An outstanding festival in Sa Pobla (declared a festival of cultural interest), but also in Manacor, Artà, Pollença, Muro, Palma and other towns. In many of the island's villages, the "Beneïdes" are made, with the blessing of animals. On the eve of Saint Anthony (the previous evening), in all or most of the towns, but especially in the East of Mallorca, bonfires are lit in the streets and neighbourhoods and toast are made with sausages, "sobrassada", loin and "xua", to the sound of the "ximbombes" and the "xeremies". In Algaida, the important celebration is the day of Sant Honorat (16th).
