Palm Sunday

Commemoration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Solemn service in almost all the parishes of the island and blessing of olive, laurel and palm branches. Give way to Easter.
Holy Thursday

The important processions of Holy Week, which commemorates the death of Jesus on the cross, begin.
Good Friday

Numerous processions. In several towns the Descent from the Cross is performed; the Descent of Artà and Pollença are well known.
Holy Saturday or Saturday of Glory

In the evening, celebration of the Easter Vigil.
Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday

Festive commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus. In many parishes, the procession of the Encounter (of the Virgin Mary with her Risen Son) takes place. In Llucmajor, the Sermon of the Enganalla (festival of cultural interest) is held, a playful duel between the sermonist and the organist that takes place in the church. It is customary to eat homemade panades and rubiols.
